Targu Jiu, Romania
The Living Hope Center
July 14 - 22
In Romania we will be:
- Constructing a large play structure at the Balesti Church property for
the use of the Balesti community. They have no play field there and this
will be a welcoming place for children to play and for families and seniors
to socialize as they watch their children play.
- The Mammogram machine will be in use and we will take some Breast
Awareness information to share with the women of Romania. Breast Cancer is
the number one killer of Romanian women.
Kodera, Kenya
August 7 - 21 (approximate)
In Kenya we have been asked:
- To do another In-Service Training for the teachers of the Pine Lake
Academy
- Facilitate the medical clinic training, including dental care
- Continue with the Home Base Health Caregiver program that they began
last year
- Hopefully bring some laptop computers to instruct the teachers and some
of the children the basics of computers. The Kenya government has
mandated that within 4 years all teachers in Kenya must be computer
literate.
Important Note: With the situation in Kenya being so volatile
as a result of the December elections, we have to pray and plan very carefully.
First we must pray for discernment concerning sending a team. Our final
decision on whether to go or not to go will be made in July after conferring
with our American Embassy in Nairobi, the community of Kodera and our friend
Christopher Sure. However, we must now begin to form and train the team,
collect our equipment and lock in our airfare.
Last year was one of our most marvelous ministry/relational trips we have had
and it started out with similar circumstances. We have to go ahead with our
plans at this point in time, but rest assured, if God closes the doors we will
not go. Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to minister to

Throughout the year we have projects which can be on-going that would help our
partnerships:

Midwife kits for Kodera St. John's Clinic - directions
available on request

School supplies kits for Pine Lake Academy in Kodera - when you
get supplies for your kids, think of doing the same thing for a child in
Kodera and help us make provision for them.

Potential adoption of children from Kodera - this is hopefully an
upcoming initiative - watch for more information.

Grant Writing Project - if you have experience in writing grants,
or if you would be willing to put in some work on this project you are
welcome to join the group already at work. Our desire is to search for
Foundations who can help us build both at Kodera and Romania.
