The History of Pine Lake Covenant Church
Pine Lake Covenant began out of a commitment to mission to this community.
The organizing group was committed to bringing together a group of believers to
join in establishing a new church in the Issaquah/Redmond area. In 1979
several families began meeting in their homes for Bible study and fellowship.
In December 1981, Pine Lake Covenant Church began its public ministry with
worship services held at Lutheran Bible Institute. On March 7th, 1982 the
charter for the new church was signed by 32 people.
On Easter Sunday, March 26, 1989, the congregation moved from its rented
facilities to our present location. Only the main floor of our present
building was completed at that time. Plans were to complete the lower
level within five years. However, the congregation continued to grow
rapidly, and in August 1991, three years ahead of schedule, we completed the
lower level.
In 2002, we grew again, adding our Family Life Center. It provides a gym and stage, and
additional classrooms and
meeting areas. Through this addition, we hope to better serve our youth, their
families, and our community.
